The Language and Orientation Tutoring Program (LOT), funded by the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages, matches international graduate students with qualified graduate student tutors. This program aims to improve the language skills of our international graduate student population and to better integrate them into the university as a whole.
The LOT Program works on a quarterly basis for all 4 quarters of the year. Sign-ups for any given quarter typically open in week 8 or 9 of the quarter before. Participation works on a first-come-first-served with priority given to new participants and to returning participants who have demonstrated a high level of commitment during previous quarters. If you would like to receive first notice when the opportunity to sign up becomes available, please email the graduate student coordinator to be placed on the tutee email list.
Each participant in the one-on-one tutoring program is assigned a highly qualified tutor with whom to meet for one hour per week for the duration of the quarter at no cost to themselves.
